In our research environment, students have the opportunity to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying functional human immune responses at the genetic, protein, and cellular levels while engaging in cutting-edge biomedical research.<br \/>\nWe actively promote international collaborations with research groups in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Africa.<br \/>\nWe welcome applications to the Graduate School of Medical Sciences at Kumamoto University (Master\u2019s and PhD programmes). Previous research experience is not required; we are particularly interested in highly motivated students with strong curiosity and enthusiasm for research. Our current graduate students come from diverse academic backgrounds, including medicine, chemistry, peptide chemistry, and clinical laboratory science, and each pursues independent research projects that build on their own strengths.<br \/>\nBecause our research focuses on human immunity, we also warmly welcome clinicians who wish to engage in basic research alongside their clinical work. Recently, there has been growing concern about the decline in physician\u2013scientists.
