FY2010 Applications Applications for FY2010 is now closed.

[1] Purpose
To support young scientists and Ph.D students to conduct researches independently, to nurture researchers who have originality and ability to active internationally.
[2] Eligibility
Applicant must be a second year Ph.D student or above, and less than two years of receiving doctoral degree (at October, 2010). Applicant must work in a GCOE laboratory and engage directly in AIDS research. Indirect involvement is not accepted.
[3] Submission and Deadline
Application Form must be prepared in English and submitted via email to Ms. Takata (s-takata@kumamoto-u.ac.jp *please change@to normal-width) at AIDS GCOE Office by Wednesday, October 13, noon .
Review progress will start immediately after submission of each application. Therefore, interested individuals should apply promptly.

1) Submission deadline: Wednesday, October 13, 2010, noon
2) Application materials must be sent as attachment via email to Ms. Takata (s-takata@kumamoto-u.ac.jp *please change@to normal-width) at AIDS GCOE Office.
[4] Award Provision
Award provides up to 500,000 yen to be used for research consumables.
Granted recipients are required to submit budget plans.
Recipients are advised to consult with your PI before submission.
[5] Application Review Procedure
1) the application materials submitted ・・・ start prompt after applications received
2) interviews ・・・ if necessary
[6] Commitment of recipients.
Granted recipients are required to submit research report around early March.
※Important Notes
・ Graduate students may consult their research plan with their mentors. However, they are not allowed to ask for comments on their application materials or for help in preparing, including proofreading and writing any part of the application form as well as English revision. They must prepare materials by themselves.

・ Post-doctoral fellows must prepare entire application independently.
※Applicants will not be judged on English skill. Any infraction/ suspected infraction of above mentioned will lead to rejection of application or termination of the grant. GCOE Research Assistantship will also be terminated for those who violated. Further, they will not be permitted to apply for this grant as well as GCOE RA in the future.
