To respond to
more diverse and sophisticated academic disciplines, Kumamoto University
formed a transdepartmental research program, "Research and Education
Program for Development of Therapy of Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious
Diseases Including AIDS" in 2005. The program brings together the
expertise of research scientists specialized in infectious diseases
and immunology in Kumamoto University and young scientists. It provides
training opportunities for young scientists and at the same time promotes
research in the area of emerging infectious diseases, including AIDS,
especially the development of effective treatment.
By applying our research and educational experience, we focus on
developing young scientists into global scientific leaders in this
global COE program. For example, we provide support for students to
present their data at international meetings.
